How to Create and Use Entities in Sightfull | Step-by-Step Guide

Welcome. We are gonna talk about entities.

Entities are the building block for all of your metrics. In Sightfull, entities can be found on the ontology page.

Entities are the base building block in your data model where all data comes from.

They are linked to your source table, and from them we derive all metrics.

To create an entity, click on the plus button above the entity list. This will open the Entity Builder. In the Entity Builder, you can use our Sightful AI to help you build an entity.

Go on and ask Sightful AI, and tell it exactly what you would like to build.

Here we would like to build an account entity made up of only users from the finance industry. Sightfull AI has taken the query and used it to create all the parameters needed to create an entity. We are going to apply select to see what chose. here. You can see that the entity name is Account -Finance Industry.

The schema that is taking the data from is the Core Fakery Small, which is the name for our Salesforce schema. We're then looking at the account table, which is where the data will be coming from.

In the account table, the primary key is the ID, and the filter we're going to use is, is the industry equal to finance, and is deleted equal false.

In addition, this created a description which reads “An Account entity where the industry is finance.

If we want to edit something, we can. If I want to change the format of this, I can change the entity name. If I would like to change the filters, that the AI has given me, I can remove one of the filters and then run it.

To create the entity, I will click create. And there you have it. The account finance entity was created with 313 records.

Using this entity, we can now begin to build dimensions or relationships. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us or check out our help center, https://docs.sightfull.com/cloud/intro/.
