How to Manipulate the X-Axis in Sightfull Metrics | Step-by-Step Guide
Welcome, today we're going to talk about how to manipulate the x-axis.
When calculating Sightfull Metrics, setting the x-axis allows us to define values for specific time periods.
The x-axis allows us to filter data over a time range. Right now, we're looking at all opportunities where the close date falls within the period.
To take a more advanced approach, we can use a formula by clicking on the Formula button.
One of the most important concepts when working with the x-axis is macros, including Period.Start and Period.End.
Filtering by close date between Period.Start and Period.End is the same as filtering opportunities where the close date falls within the selected period.
We can also view snapshot data, which looks at opportunities where the created date is before the period and the close date is after the period start.
As you can see from the snapshot data, this changes the view.
Another option is to create a cumulative view, which includes all opportunities that closed before the period end.
Now, we can see the cumulative amount for all opportunities.
We can also filter by year-to-date to view the total amount of opportunities for the current year.
If you're using modular metrics and calculating a metric based on another metric, you do not need to set the x-axis manually—this calculation is handled within the base metric itself.
One last thing to note is the date picker, which allows you to select and adjust the period for your analysis. In this example, we are looking at the year of the period.
